Meeting safely
The Build Nation is for meeting builders in person, so safety comes first.
Public places only
Meetups happen only at public places where people already meet: cafés, libraries and coworking spaces. Never at someone's home or a private address. When a host names their own spot, they confirm it's a public place, and any meetup reported at a private address is removed.
18 and older
You must be 18 or older to use The Build Nation.
Your location stays approximate
Other members see your rough area (about 1 km), never a live pin.
When a host names their own spot, its exact place is shown only to the people the host accepts. A listed public venue shows its name.
Report or block someone
In the iPhone app:
- On someone's profile, or next to a meetup attendee, tap “Report or block”.
- On a post, tap “Report”.
- See and undo blocks in Settings → “Blocked builders”.
On the web:
- On a post, open its menu and choose “Report post”.
- On a meetup, use the safety menu next to a person: “Report” or “Block”.
Reports go to our team. Blocking someone means you no longer appear in each other's lists.
When you meet up
- Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Stay in the public area of the venue.
- You can leave anytime, for any reason.
